Personal Development
At Idle CE Primary School, personal development is at the heart of our provision. We are committed to ensuring that every child is known, valued and supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Through our pastoral support systems, enrichment opportunities and wider curriculum experiences, we help pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence and a strong sense of belonging.
Pastoral Care and Emotional Wellbeing
We recognise that children can only achieve their best when they feel safe, supported and understood. Our graduated pastoral offer provides targeted support to meet a wide range of emotional and social needs, including:
- Nurture Breakfast provision, providing a calm and positive start to the school day.
- Bereavement interventions to support pupils through significant life events.
- Movement interventions to support regulation, concentration and wellbeing.
- Time to Talk sessions, providing opportunities for reflection, discussion and emotional expression.
- Art Club interventions to promote wellbeing and self-expression through creativity.
- Lego Therapy groups that develop communication, teamwork, social skills and confidence.
These interventions ensure that pupils receive the support they need to be successful both in and beyond the classroom.
Pupil Leadership
Pupils are encouraged to take an active role within the school community and develop leadership skills through a range of opportunities, including:
