Year Two

Welcome to Year 2 with Miss Gravestock, Mrs Shaw and Miss Naqvi!

Year Two is an exciting and important year as children continue to develop the skills, knowledge and confidence they have built throughout Key Stage One. It is a year of discovery, growth and achievement, where pupils are encouraged to become more independent learners while continuing to enjoy a nurturing and engaging learning environment.

Throughout the year, children will build upon their learning in reading, writing and mathematics, developing greater confidence and fluency in these key areas. They will also explore a range of creative and inspiring topics across the wider curriculum, encouraging curiosity, imagination and a love of learning. Through practical activities, investigation and collaborative learning opportunities, children are supported to deepen their understanding and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.

In Year Two, we recognise that every child is unique and progresses at their own pace. We celebrate individual achievements and encourage children to challenge themselves, persevere when learning becomes difficult and take pride in their accomplishments. By fostering resilience, confidence and a positive attitude towards learning, we help children to develop the skills they need to succeed both now and in the years ahead.

We look forward to working in partnership with families to ensure every child enjoys a happy, successful and rewarding year as they continue their journey through primary school.
